Documentation for the lockdown software used at test centres. The downloads themselves need an access code from your portal administrator — everything else on this page is open to read.

CBT Kiosk App (Windows)

Install on every centre PC. Locks the machine into true fullscreen and reports its MAC address for attendance verification.

1. Run the installer on each test machine before candidates arrive.

2. Launch it and confirm it opens the assessment in fullscreen.

3. To exit (end of day / troubleshooting), use the invigilator password given to you separately.

Safe Exam Browser config

For macOS, or any machine that already has Safe Exam Browser installed instead of the Kiosk app.

1. Install Safe Exam Browser first — safeexambrowser.org.

2. Open the downloaded exam.seb file — it launches the assessment locked down automatically.

3. One file works for every candidate; you don't need a separate copy per machine.

If the download fails with "not enabled", SEB support hasn't been turned on for this portal yet — use the Kiosk app instead, or contact the administrator.

Which one should I use?

• Windows machines: CBT Kiosk app (preferred — reports the machine's MAC address).

• Mac / iPad, or machines that already run Safe Exam Browser: the .seb config.

• Both lock the candidate to the assessment until they submit — use whichever fits each machine.
